Canada place is a meeting point for vancouverites events such as New Year but it is mostly an interesting point for tourists, you can depart from there to Groose or Capilano parks by bus, have a trip on a plane, or take a ferry to north side of the Great Vancouver. It is also the Cruise Terminal.
