Former Vancouver Art Gallery, today an skyscraper occupy its place. (I like that)

The today´s gallery is a neoclassical building in Hornby st. at the downtown.
The gallery will be again moved.

The new one will be presented to the media on next September 29th, the winner project has been a design of Herzog & De Meuron.

I left Vancouver on 23rd.
The 29th was presented the project winner for the new art gallery, of course this is not a picture I had taken, this is from google.

The most important exhibition during my visit was :
500 years of italian painting.
From Glasgow Museums.
No pictures were allowed so this is the painting of the poster´s exhibition.

An important selection of photographs is presented in other room.
First Nation people.
Famous Vancouver millionaires.
A demonstration in Berkeley
Three convicts.
Scott Fitzgerald.
Andy Warhol.

September 11th.
Emily Carr paintings were also displayed...

...in a dialogue with modern wallpapers.
Contemporary works of tiny pieces of paper...
...little dolls
or a sort of light and sound "happening" with Frank Zappa audio.
Plus a collection of pictures of Elizabeth Taylor properties, cupboard clothes, jewelry...
A few blocks from the Art Gallery is the Bill Reid one, this two pictures are from the shop. (No pictures allowed from the inner Museum, anyway they allowed in the most interesting works from this author in the Museum of Anthropology).
Located at Vancouver International Airport.
Departures Level 3.
The Spirit of Haida Gwaii: The Jade Canoe is a Bill Reid master work.
